Many believe that tropical plants need allot of care but in reality tropical plants are very easy to grow and suitable for indoor and office conditions. In a Tropical forest there are 3 levels: the canopy, under-story, and forest floor. Trees that form the canopy need bright sun and moist soil but can tolerate low light levels. The plants that live in the under-story such as bromeliads, ferns, orchids, moss need  indirect light, can tolerate low light levels, grow in organic humid planting medium and they don't like soggy or wet soils. At the forest floor terrestrial plants such bromeliads, orchids, ferns can be found growing in rich organic moist soil and growing in indirect light and can survive very low light conditions. The tropical plants that are usually found growing in the lower two levels can easily become indoor tropical plants.

Tropical plants are very adaptable about 80% of the tropical plants can be grown in soil, water or soil less in a very humid environment. Meaning you can have the same species growing in different growing mediums one in soil, one in a glass vase with pure water and pebbles, and another growing in very humid area with out soil. Such as a moist wall or along side water falls and moist driftwood.
